Lice in children, advice, treatment and cure.

But first, let's share some unknown data about lice, to make your treatment more effective!

Things you did not know about lice but will help you fight them:
Lice do not live long hours outside the scalp. They are not going to nest on your carpet, sheets or mattress. So it makes no sense to clean, disinfect or even burn (yes, they do too) sheets, pillowcases and rugs. Nor throw tons of cockroaches or insecticides all over the house.
In a few hours, all the lice that have fallen from the children's heads will have died. All you have to do is change the sheets and pillowcases every day for as long as they last.

Lice do not drown like other insects. It takes 8-10 hours to drown. So, it does not make sense to put oils, gels or any "drowning" treatment for less than 8-10 hours. These treatments will only work if you keep them for longer hours or if you leave them overnight with your head wrapped in a film or nylon cap. Also, the nits do not choke so you do half the work if you do not repeat these methods often.

The nits, the eggs of the lice, hatch in 7-11 days. So, even if you exterminate all live lice, you will have to repeat your methods at least one more time, in 11 days at the earliest, to kill their newly hatched pups.
For better or worse, of course, whatever method you choose, repeat it every week for 3 consecutive weeks,
so you can be sure that there are no live eggs left. Also, as a precaution, once a month you can repeat your treatment, at least as long as the children go to school.

Make your own treatments to get rid of lice immediately:

Essential oil therapy -  This is a very powerful treatment, widespread in many countries in Asia and Europe for many years. However, not all essential oils work, so be careful which one you choose. Mix 10-15 drops of essential oils of tree or lavender in ¼ a cup of olive oil (or baby shampoo), apply well first all over the skin and then along the entire length of the hair with the help of a comb (if the hair is too long put slightly above dose).
Essential oils also work very well as a prevention for lice. Simply mix a little essential oil with olive oil (or any other odorless oil you want, eg sunflower oil) and put one or two drops on the wrists and behind the child's ear every morning before school.

        Caution:
because some children are allergic to certain essential oils , try the mixture behind the ear first by applying a drop for 12 hours. If it does not redden or cause itching or general irritation, you can use it without fear.

Olive oil treatment -  Effectively kills lice by the mechanical method of drowning. Just put a very large amount so that it covers well every part of the head and hair and then wrap with a film or cap to completely eliminate the air from the child's head. Before wrapping it, comb the hair with a thick comb to spread it all over and then put on the cap or film. Leave it all day (or all night, it is more convenient if the child is very young) at a cost of course, to oil some clothes or some pillowcases.
Repeat once a week  for at least 3 weeks to eliminate them completely and then, at least once a month, as a precaution.

Vinegar therapy -  This is the oldest and most common treatment, but it requires more repetitions. Spread it on dry hair all over the head, in large quantities and wrap it with cling film or nylon cap. Leave it for at least 20 minutes and rinse with cold water. Do not wash your hair, the smell will go away very quickly. Repeat as needed.
For prevention,  you can mix half part shampoo and half part vinegar and wash your hair with it.

            Caution: it
may sting if the skin is sensitive or injured by too much scratching or make the eyes water for the first few minutes - if symptoms persist or are unbearable remove it immediately by rinsing with cold water and try another, milder method .

            \
Lemon and soda treatment  - It has very good results on lice and is a very easy method. You can also use it on your animals to rid them of parasites.
Mix an equal amount of freshly squeezed (and strained) lemon juice with an equal amount of baking soda (it will foam but do not panic, keep stirring until well mixed) and spread it well all over the head and the length of the hair. With a comb you can spread it better. Wrap the head with a nylon cap or film and leave it for 3-4 hours.
Repeat for as long as needed until completely eliminated.

            \
Treatment with ... mayonnaise! Do not ask how and what, half of America swears by it, I have no idea why, but it works! Put enough mayonnaise all over your head, comb it well to go everywhere, wrap it in a nylon cap or cling film and leave it overnight (or at least 8 hours). Then you can bathe well or optionally, before shampooing, use the special comb to remove the nits that have now come off the hair.
But even if you do not use a comb, you can repeat 2 times a week and ... clean!

Baby oil treatment -  Probably the mildest and most pleasant method, if you exclude the many hand baths that you need after it to go away. Follow the exact same steps with the olive oil method above. Logically, because the oils kill the lice mechanically  (the living ones drown and their eggs slip and leave) then any kind of oil works to eradicate the lice. Just repeat 3-4 times until completely clean.

Treatment with a hair dryer and hair iron!  The method is very simple and makes sense because it burns with hot air and hot iron all their lice and eggs. How;  Apply a generous amount of shampoo on the head (preferably an anti-dandruff), leave it for 1 hour without covering your head and then without rinsing it, dry it well with the hair dryer. He passed each tuft with the hair iron very thoroughly and then rinsed his head with a mixture of half shampoo and half vinegar. Repeat as many times as needed, without fear. and two ... not so natural methods for "difficult" cases
Oral solution ( listerine ) -  Yes, do not laugh, many swear by it. Put enough and cover the head well with a nylon cap or film. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash your head well. Repeat once a week until they are eliminated, although many consider it a "one-off" method!
Of course, if it is a child, because it has a strong smell and it is a chemical preparation, do not overdo it in the repetitions if the child is intolerant. Always apply conditioner because the mouthwash dries the hair.

How to get rid of lice with vinegar and Listerine fast at home

In this video, you will see how to get rid of lice with vinegar and Listerine quickly at home. That's true, vinegar and Listerine work amazingly for removing lice from your hair. There are many options that you can try as a treatment for head lice, but the combination of vinegar and Listerine is more than a miracle. In case you are bothered by lice, nits and their eggs, use Listerine and vinegar and enjoy a quality life.

Alcohol therapy -  We all know that alcohol "pops" and burns lice. Just pour plenty of it on the scalp, cover it quickly before it evaporates with a nylon cap or film and leave it for 5-10 minutes. Then you can proceed to shampooing. Repeat as needed but do not forget the conditioner at the end of the bath because the alcohol wears out the hair.  Caution: it  may sting if the skin is sensitive or injured by too much scratching or make the eyes water for the first few minutes - if symptoms persist or are unbearable remove it immediately by rinsing with cold water and try another, milder method .

Of course, it is good to know that  all the above knowledge and methods are applied with great success not only to children but also to adults. So, if you have fallen "victim" of your children, you can just as effectively follow the above instructions and get rid of the tiny sufferings that the little ones carried at home! :)

And if all of the above do not work ... then it is probably time to dye your hair  as we all know that dyed hair and lice have never met! The next video describes with garlic methods, garlic with lemon, coconut oil and camphor, etc.
